Bio

Michal Karniely (b. 1994) is a multidisciplinary artist and musician. currently based in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. She obtained her Bachelor's degree from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem in 2020, and her second Bachelor's degree from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in 2024 (both cum laude).

Michal has received grants from the Ghetto Fighters' House Lohamei HaGeta'ot in the department of Arts (ISR, 2021), and has participated in exchange studied in Vilnius Academy of Arts (2019) and Akademia Muzyczna im. Stanisława Moniuszki w Gdańsku (2023).

Her works and musical performances have been featured in numerous institutions and festivals, including Jerusalem Arts Festival (ISR, 2024), Hevel Eilot gallery (ISR, 2024), Jerusalem Jazz Festival (ISR, 2024), Quinta Music Festival (ISR, 2022), Animix Festival- Tel aviv cinematheque (ISR, 2022), Shablulim Festival (ISR, 2022), Jerusalem Women's Film Festival (ISR, 2022), ZAZ10 gallery New York (NYU, 2020), Morgan Library (NYU, 2020), Israel Festival (ISR, 2020), VIDEOFEST 2, Stadium P (Vilnius 2019), EPOS Festival- Beit Berl (ISR, 2019), VIDEOFORMS festival (France 2019), Short Film Festival Be'er Sheva (2018), Beita Gallery Jerusalem (2017).

Michal has participated in the first artist residency of Edmond De Rotschild Center, and is talking part in an artist collective called 'la'an Achshav' (Where to now).

Michal Works as well as a freelance videographer and photographer working in the field of music and art documentation, working with various artists and musicians in aim of combining great visuals with music.
